Grand Val and the villageCombourg are situated only 30 km from the town of Rennes with its 250.000 inhabitants, or Bretones as they are called in the west of France. 30 km in the other direction you will find the sea and the resort of Dinard with some of Brittanys finest beaches. Nearby you find the port of St Malo with its characteristic town wall. All the ferries that go to the channel islands leave from here. Nearby lies the coastal town of Cancale, here shellfish connoisseurs meet from all over the world, to visit the oyster farms and to savour the fruits of the sea at one of the ports picturesque restaurants. Other sights worth seeing close to Grand Val is the abbey and former pirate nest Mont St Michel, and also the villages Vitre and Dinan - with their intact old city centres dating from the12th century. East of Dinard lies the coastal town Cancale. Here, shellfish connoisseurs meet from all over the world, to savour the fruits of the sea at any of the ports many restaurants.


Golf des Ormes and Golf de St. Malo/Le Tronchet is only a 15 min. drive from the Chateau. Further on there are five other courses within easy reach. Some of these courses are placed around fantastic castles while others like Golf de Dinard is a seaside/links course with breathtaking view over the sea. Unlike Sweden there is rarely any people on the courses.
