Chateau du Grand Val is situated just outside the little village/town of Combourg in Brittany. The castle is approx. 30km from the coast and 30km from the town of Rennes. It is approx. 150km from the beaches of the D Day landings.

The climate is characterized by a long, warm Spring and Autumn and usually a nice summer. The temperature rarely goes below zero in the winter. The inhabitants of Brittany is callled Bretones and are of celtic origin, just like Asterix and his friends. But in their time Brittany was called “Gallien”.
